Introduction

This document explains all available actions in the content inventory interface and how they can help you manage your publications.

Store administrators can manage the store content through the Inventory section in the control panel.

Available Actions

When working with publications in your inventory, you can perform various actions through the content menu. These actions provide comprehensive control over how your publications are managed, updated, and presented to users.

Basic Actions

Copy Publication Page URL

This action provides you with the direct URL to the publication's detail page in your store. This URL can be:

  • Shared directly with users
  • Used in marketing campaigns
  • Embedded in social media posts
  • Included in newsletters or email communications

The URL links directly to the publication's page where users can view details and purchase the content.

Generate QR Code

This action creates a QR code that links directly to the publication's page. QR codes are especially useful for:

  • Print marketing materials
  • In-store displays
  • Business cards or promotional items
  • Event marketing

When scanned with a mobile device, the QR code takes users directly to the publication in your store.

Update PDF File

This action allows you to upload a new version of a PDF publication while maintaining all existing metadata, statistics, and sales information. This is useful when:

  • Correcting errors in the publication
  • Adding updated content
  • Improving formatting or design
  • Addressing accessibility issues

The system will process the new file and make it available to both new and existing customers.

Remove from Sale

This action temporarily removes a publication from being available for purchase in your store without deleting it from your inventory. This allows you to:

  • Pause sales while updating content
  • Temporarily withdraw publications as needed
  • Manage seasonal or time-limited content
  • Prepare publications before a scheduled release

You can restore the publication to your store at any time by reversing this action.

Download Original File

info

This action is only available if the Download Original Publications Files feature is enabled on the store.

Allows you to download the original file that was uploaded to create the publication. This is useful for:

  • Archiving purposes
  • Making edits to the source file
  • Creating new versions
  • Backing up content

The downloaded file will be identical to what was originally uploaded to the platform.

Delete

This action permanently removes the publication from your inventory. When you delete a publication:

  • It is no longer available in your store
  • Sales data is preserved in your reports
  • The publication ID is retained in the system
  • Any existing user licenses remain intact, but no new purchases can be made

This action should be used with caution as it cannot be undone.

Super Admin Actions

Restart Conversion

This action initiates a new conversion process for the publication. This is useful when:

  • The initial conversion encountered issues
  • You need to refresh the publication's digital version
  • System updates have improved the conversion process

Restart Conversion Optimizing File

This action starts a new conversion with enhanced optimization settings. This option is beneficial for:

  • Improving page loading times
  • Reducing file size
  • Enhancing readability on mobile devices
  • Optimizing images and formatting

The optimization process balances quality and performance for an improved reading experience.

Restart Conversion Optimizing File with Debug Mode

This advanced action runs the conversion with detailed debugging information. This option should be used when:

  • Troubleshooting specific conversion issues
  • Working with Publica.la support on file problems
  • Dealing with complex formatting challenges
  • Addressing rendering issues on specific devices

Debug mode provides additional information to help identify and resolve conversion problems. To review the conversion logs, refer to the Activity Log Queries section.

Publication ID

Each publication in your inventory has a unique identifier displayed at the bottom of the action menu (for example, "id: 638837"). This ID is useful when:

  • Communicating with Publica.la support
  • Tracking specific publications in your inventory
  • Using the API to manage publications
  • Creating custom integrations

You can reference this ID in any correspondence about specific publications.
